With Christmas fast approaching, Muffin Break have partnered with Sydney based artist, Julie Luu, to bring the Christmas spirit to our stores, through illustration.
Who is Julie Luu?
Julie Luu is a digital marketer and freelance illustrator based in Sydney, Australia.
With a passion for learning she is constantly exploring methods in her work to combine her love for illustration, photography and other dynamic mediums like animation and video.
Julie started off in portrait commissions before kicking off commercial illustration adventures within the food and beverage industry, assisting small and large businesses around the country with flawlessly crafted artwork to give life to their products through design.
Some of the clients she’s worked with include Anna Wang, Dermalogica, For Purpose Co, Kitchai Thai Restaurant, BaaOinkMoo Korean BBQ, Silver Pearl Venues.

Julie’s Illustration Style
Through mixed art, she harmonises a sense of quirkiness and simplicity in her illustrations to create a well-balanced, fun and joyful result.
She loves experimenting and testing new styles of working, with her final creations often being fluid and adaptive to the brand. This allows brands to find different ways to share content beyond photography, which suits their overall feel.
Perfectly capturing the true meaning of Christmas
Bringing her unique touch to Muffin Break, Julie has captured the taste, feel and sensation of our Christmas range.
Our new Duffin, the Christmas Pudding & Custard Duffin, is a scrumptious treat, with a cinnamon sugar base, filled with lightly spiced fruit mince, a swirl of custard and garnished with a white icing star with a dusting of gold.
Breathing life to the Christmas products through a refined yet playful representation, Julie captures the twists and turns of the Duffin base, whilst also delicately depicting the gold dust on the white icing star.
The result is immaculate and aligns perfectly with the handcrafted and irregular nature of handmade goods, similarly to that of a perfectly imperfect freshly baked Muffin Break muffin.
Julie also recreated the Muffin Break cup for the festive period, matching the overall look and feel of the Pudding & Custard Duffin, to create well thought out and balanced signage for Muffin Break stores, Australia wide.
Available Australia-wide, the Christmas Pudding & Custard Duffin & barista made coffee are available for a limited time from November 22nd in-store and for delivery through Menulog.

Throughout, she connects the individual ingredients to the final depiction of the baked treat, reflecting a human touch on the home-baked monthly creation.
