Muffin Break Raised $15k for Share the Dignity
Second Year and Counting
To help share the dignity, Muffin Break committed to raising $1 for every Pink Lamington muffin sold in August. The muffin was specifically created for Share the Dignity, to help raise funds for their #PinkBox program.
This pink muffin coated in a strawberry pink icing, rolled in coconut with a garnish of Cream Cheese Icing and love heart sprinkles enticed over 15,000 customers into store. As a result, we raised $15,000 for Share the Dignity to install another #PinkBox, allowing free access to sanitary items for women in need.
A HUGE thank you to all our customers who visited us during August to enjoy this muffin in support of raising funds for an Aussie charity that so many connect with.
What is a #PinkBox?
A #PinkBox is a vending machine installed around the country’s public toilets, homeless hubs, domestic violence refuges, community centres and schools. What it offers vulnerable women is FREE access to a period pack made up of 2 pads and 6 tampons. We believe access to sanitary items is a right and not a privilege, where no woman should ever have to choose between eating and living with dignity.
Replenishing the #PinkBox
During their Dignity Drives in April and August, Share the Dignity is able to collect thousands of pads, tampons and personal hygiene products every YEAR for women experiencing homelessness and poverty. Small dignities make a big difference. They fund funerals for victims of domestic violence and campaign for justice for women in Australia. Find your local donation point to help make a difference.
Installation of the #PinkBox
The charity is working tirelessly to install more of these boxes around Australia including the one we’ve been able to fund. Here is the box we were able to install this year in Bendigo with the funds raised from the Pink Lamington Muffin in 2018.
