Weird and Wonderful Coffee Trends

Its been a strange few years when it comes to trends in coffee. We have put together a list of a few of our favourite and will leave it to you if it deserves to be labelled more weird or more wonderful!

  • Coffee served in a cone

An interesting concept which saw a waffle cone layered on the inside with chocolate and then filled with a piccolo latte. The notion behind it being that the coffee melts into the chocolate create a creamy, chocolatey flavour that melts in your mouth.

  • Avocado Latte

Following on from this trend was the slightly more interesting avocado latte, the idea being as a way to demonstrate the claim that young people can’t afford million dollar properties due to buying $4 lattes and smashed avocado on toast.

  • Sustainability

This has been one of the biggest trends in the food and beverage industry in recent times and it is not expected to slow down or stop. The focus will continue to be on promoting the use of reusable cups, developing biodegradable cups and biodegradable pods

  • Mushroom infusions

A new trend which has been beginning to take hold is the infusion of mushrooms into coffee in an effort to aid digestion, boost brain power and increase energy, whilst also reducing those caffeine jitters.

  • Sparkling Coffee

Following on from the popularity of cold brew particularly in the United States, coffee companies have begun to offer sparking cold brew as another alternative for the warmer months.
