Wrapping Up Wakakirri 2019

Muffin Break was proud to serve their community for a second year, supporting the Wakakirri Donation Program. Wakakirri’s storytelling competition through dance saw over 20,000 students participate in 2019 from 280 primary and secondary schools!

Each school that participates in Wakakirri, creates an original 3-7 minute story-dance production. These productions bring to the stage topics that affect the lives of the youths who perform to include climate change, mental health, technology and other uniquely Australian issues.

The quality of the productions we saw were incredible. The students seemed to work tirelessly with their teachers and stage crew to pull together these performances. These issues featured on stage are a great way to story tell through their passion for dance. They portrayed their stories with great emotion that we could feel and connect with.
