Muffin Break Raises Over $65,000 for WIRES

The year started off with seeing devastation spread across the country, with the worst fires we’ve ever seen. To offer our support, Muffin Break committed to raising $1 for every lamington product sold during the month of January.

Congratulations to all of you who helped us reach above and beyond our expectations for our Lamington products sold in January for Australian Wildlife Rescue Organisation (WIRES). We have been able to raise over $65,000 for the charity that is rescuing and caring for the innocent animals caught in fire-devastated areas.

Muffin-Break-Bushfire-Appeal

A total of 21,297 lamington products were sold in January. Our parent company, Foodco, matched Muffin Break dollar for dollar towards every lamington product sold. Darrell Lea also committed to a $10,000 donation. And there was over $12,000 raised purely from the donation boxes each of you have on your counters.

An amazing effort from all of our customers to support such a charity to make a big difference for our injured wildlife.

MUFFIN BREAK STORES SUPPORTING THEIR COMMUNITIES

Many of our stores held local events to raise further funds for those affected by the bushfires. Here’s what a couple of them were able to achieve.

Bendigo

Lillian of Muffin Break Bendigo held a fundraiser donating $1 from every transaction & collecting donations for the Victorian CFA. Over the day, Lillian and her team raised an incredible $1000!

A fantastic effort and outstanding contribution! We are sure the CFA will be incredibly thankful for them for their generosity.

Well done Lillian on running a very special event to support those who are helping to protect and save our country.

WARNBRO

Our wonderful team at Warnbro Muffin Break is known for running Cookie Decorating Workshops every school holidays. The workshop held in mid-January was to raise awareness and collect donations for the WIRES.

Warnbro-Cookie-WorkshopEric and his team shaped all the cookies into Australian Wildlife Animals (Kangaroos, Koalas, Wombats) for the kids to decorate. We also brought the Muffin Man costume which was a real hit for the kids!

There was an awesome turn out on the day with over 170 kids and the team received awesome feedback from the parents, kids and surrounding shoppers.

Meet our Firie, Tim!

Our very own, Tim Walsh, who is part of our Victorian Operations team at Muffin Break is a member of the CFA.

He has been a volunteer for over 2 years with the Pearcedale Fire Brigade and was recently part of the strike unit fighting the East Gippsland fire.

Pearcedale-CFA-team

A HUGE shout out to him and the team at Pearcedale CFA and all the firies for all their work and efforts during this bushfire ordeal.
