Installation of Pinkbox Penelope

Last August, we donated $1 from every Pink Lamington Muffin sold, and together, we were able to raise over $15,000 for our national charity partner, Share the Dignity. The funds were allocated to the installation of a Dignity Vending Machine.

NRL Cowboys House are the proud owners of a Dignity Vending Machine thanks to Muffin Break and Share the Dignity, providing them with access to free period products.

Share the Dignity’s Dignity Vending Machines, also known affectionately as ‘Pinkboxes’, dispense period packs which allows girls and women to access free sanitary products to manage their period with dignity. The period packs contain 2 pads and 6 tampons allowing students the dignity to access without asking.

Muffin Break General Manager Natalie Brennan says,

“We knew the power of a muffin could make such an impact in our local communities! We are so proud that our customers were able to support us in raising these funds to give back to those in need of some of life’s basic necessities.”

NRL Cowboys House General Manager Rochelle Jones said the support is significant for the House and their young women.

“Through their generosity, Share the Dignity and Muffin Break are helping us to educate and remove barriers for our female boarders,” Ms Jones said.

“NRL Cowboys House and the Cowboys Community Foundation thank them for this fantastic donation of our own Pinkbox machine that will allow our students to have the dignity of access to free period packs.”

Share the Dignity Founder Rochelle Courtenay is thrilled to see the installation at NRL Cowboy House.

“At Share the Dignity we believe access to pads and tampons is a right, not a privilege. It is so important that a student never miss a day’s education because she can’t afford sanitary items. We now have 182 Pinkboxes nationally with 43 of these installed in schools thanks to the generosity of businesses, grants and community donations.”
